On 6 September 2016, a three-member delegation led by Deputy Consul-General Chung Hae Kwan from the Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou visited the NISCSS. NISCSS President Wu Shicun met with the guests and exchanged ideas on various issues, including the impact of the award of the South China Sea arbitration on regional situation and the deployment of THAAD on the Korean Peninsula.
