On 18 November 2016, NISCSS President WU Shicun met with a delegation of National Defence Department of Canada, which was headed by Mr. Paul Hodgins, policy analyst.

The two sides exchanged views on various issues, such as China’s claim of rights and policies on South China Sea, the impact of the award of the South China Sea arbitration, crisis management and the outlook of the South China Sea situation and the role the US plays in the South China Sea disputes.
