China-Japan Security Dialogue on East China Sea held in Haikou

On 4 March 2017, NISCSS President Wu Shicun attended the China-Japan Security Dialogue on East China Sea, which was co-organized in Haikou by the NISCSS, the Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies at Nanjing University and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.

 

Wu delivered a keynote speech on the South China Sea arbitration as well as China's South China Sea policy and stance.

 

Scholars from the two countries conducted discussions on various topics, including coastal states' practice in maritime delimitation, confidence & security building measures in East China Sea, and outlook on future cooperation.

 

The dialogue brought together nearly 40 experts, scholars and observers from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, PLA Naval Command College, National Defense Academy of Japan, Osaka University, Tohoku University and the University of Shizuoka.
