On 9 March 2017, NISCSS President Wu Shicun delivered a lecture on the current situation in the South China Sea and China-U.S. relations in Hong Kong at the invitation of Asian Academy of International Law.

The lecture brought together attendees from the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, representative bodies of Chinese central government in Hong Kong, Hong Kong University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the legal community.

The lecture was chaired by Ms. Teresa Cheng, founding member of Asian Academy of International Law and chair of Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.
