On 9 July 2015, a two-member delegation led by Deputy Consul-General Chung Hae Kwan from the Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou visited the NISCSS. NISCSS Vice President Xi Jinsong met with the guests and exchanged ideas on the building of the maritime silk road in the 21st century, future cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Hainan Province and other topics. NISCSS research staff attended the meeting.
