On 10 November 2015, NISCSS President Wu Shicun attended an international conference entitled "The Asian Paradox: Rising Wealth, Lingering Tensions", and in the panel of “Asian Security Tomorrow: Working for Peace in Our Time”, answered questions on the South China Sea disputes, maritime crisis management, Asian security mechanism building and others.

This conference was organized by the Friends of Europe, a Belgium-based famous think tank. The conference brought together Asian and European policymakers, scholars, business leaders and other representatives.
