From 20-22 November 2014, NISCSS President Wu Shicun attended the Fifth Xiangshan Forum at the invitation of China Association for Military Science and delivered a keynote speech entitled “Manage Maritime Disputes in Asia-Pacific, Maintain Regional Peace and Stability” on the topic of how to manage maritime disputes in the Asia-Pacific region.  

      The theme this year is "Cooperation and Win-Win, Build an Asian Community of Common Destiny". There were delegates from the ministry of national defense or armed troops of 51 countries, and officials from four international organizations, including the European Union (EU), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). There were also former military and political figures from abroad and scholars from famous think tanks.

     While attending the forum, President Wu was interviewed by CCTV-News, Phoenix TV and other media.
