NISCSS President Wu Shicun attended international conference in New York

On 29 June 2016 (local time), NISCSS President Wu Shicun attended the 3rd U.S.-China Track II Dialogue on Maritime Affairs and International Law, which was co-organized by the NISCSS and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR).

 

The panels included the current situation in the South China Sea and the East China Sea, the role of international law and the South China Sea arbitration, and suggestions for maintaining stability in the South China Sea. Some consensus was generated by in-depth discussion.

 

Present at the conference were over 20 experts and scholars from think tanks, universities and government agencies in the U.S. and China, including the NISCSS, Institute for China-America Studies, China’s Naval Military Studies Research Institute, Tsinghua University, the NCUSCR, the Office of the Legal Adviser of the State Department, New York University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Hofstra University, Naval War College and the Center for Naval Analysis.

 

The conference was cochaired by NISCSS President Wu Shicun and NCUSCR President Stephen Orlins. It lasts two days and will close on 30 June 2016.
