On 29 September 2016, NISCSS President Wu Shicun met with Political Consul Matthew Perrement from the British Consulate-General in Guangzhou, and exchanged views on China's South China Sea policy, the UK's stance towards the South China Sea arbitration, China-UK relations, as well as the future dynamics of the South China Sea issue and its possible solutions.
