On 14 December 2016, Zhang Feng, adjunct research fellow with the NISCSS and fellow with the Department of International Relations of the Australian National University, delivered a lecture entitled "United States Foreign Policy in the Asia Pacific: From Open Door to Liberal Hegemony" at the NISCSS and exchanged views with part of NISCSS research staff.

Zhang has begun a three-week stay at the NISCSS since 3 December 2016 and more lectures are expected.
