On 14 August 2018, participants and speakers of the 6th South China Sea-themed Summer Camp visited Hainan Maritime Safety Administration (MSA), and boarded the Chinese patrol vessel “Haixun 21” for a study tour. The group also visited the Maritime Search and Rescue Center of Hainan Province and the command center of Haikou Maritime Safety Administration. There, participants of the Summer Camp learned about roles and functions of various maritime traffic safety monitoring systems such as the Vessel Automatic Identification System and Vessel Traffic Service, and the structure, duties and international cooperation activities of the MSA.
