On September 27, 2018, James Levy, the U.S. Consul General in Guangzhou, visited the NISCSS and met with President Wu Shicun. Dr. Wu and Mr. Levy exchanged views on issues of mutual concerns such as factors that may affect the South China Sea situation, development of Nansha Islands, Trump’s South China Sea policy and the U.S.-China trade war.
