On 8 July 2020, the delegation of New Zealand Consulate-General in Guangzhou, led by Consul-General Rebekah Mawson, visited NISCSS. President Wu Shicun met with the guests. The two sides exchanged views on the current situation of the South China Sea, development of the Code of Conduct negotiations and China's South China Sea policy towards the issue.
