Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday that the visit by Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to China's Taiwan region was "not just a trip by a single irresponsible politician, but part of a purposeful, conscious U.S. strategy to destabilize and sow chaos in the region and the world".
He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the "Army-2022" International Military-Technical Forum and the International Army Games-2022 held at the Patriot military-patriotic park.
Pelosi paid a visit to China's Taiwan region at the beginning of this month against China's warnings, intensifying tensions across the Taiwan Straits.
