President Joe Biden on Saturday forcefully denounced the Hamas assault on Israeli civilians, repeatedly declaring that the U.S. “stands with Israel” and will never “fail to have their back.”

“Israel has the right to defend itself and its people. Full stop. There’s never a justification for terrorist attacks. And my administration’s support for Israel security is rock solid and unwavering,” the president said, speaking from the White House State Dining Room.

The president’s live remarks came hours after he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the “horrific” Hamas attacks, offering “all appropriate means of support” to the U.S. ally amid the ongoing fighting.
