(Opinion) Washington-Seoul drill stirs new trouble on Peninsula

"South Korea and the US kicked off a joint naval drill Monday of an unprecedented scale. Called Invincible Spirit, the drill covers the western, southern and eastern waters of South Korea. With the USS Ronald Reagan as the main force, the navies are readying for precision strikes against key land facilities.

October 10 marks the anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. South Korean and US media outlets have made copious reports about the commotion at North Korea's nuclear and missile sites, and predicted that Pyongyang may launch strategically aggressive operations around the anniversary.

However, no aggression had been seen in North Korea by the evening of October 10. On the contrary, Seoul and Washington have seriously provoked Pyongyang, and stirred up troubles on the Korean Peninsula."
