"Chinese President Xi Jinping kicked off his official visit to Cambodia Thursday. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen revealed that the two sides would ink at least 28 cooperative agreements during Xi's visit.

The Sino-Cambodian relationship is categorized as comprehensive strategic partnership for cooperation. Such a partnership is not held as too valuable among today's international relationships, as it often lacks substance and sometimes partnership countries turn against each other. Yet the Sino-Cambodian comprehensive strategic partnership for cooperation lives up to its name.

Though the two countries do not border each other, the depth and breadth of bilateral cooperation have reached a high level. As the No.1 trade partner and biggest investor in Cambodia, Beijing has enjoyed close ties with the Cambodian royal family and the deep trust of the Cambodian government."
