North and South Korea synchronise time as clock ticks towards US talks

North Korea put its clocks forward by half an hour yesterday to synchronise its time with the South in the latest gesture of goodwill on the divided peninsula.


The re-establishment of a single time zone came as it was announced that Donald Trump and Moon Jae-in, the South’s president, will meet in Washington on May 22.


The US president said the date and location for his highly anticipated summit with Kim Jong-un, the North’s dictator, had been agreed — but did not reveal the details.
