Chinese FM puts forward five-point proposal on Iran nuclear issue

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi here on Friday put forward a five-point proposal concerning the Iranian nuclear issue.


Wang made the remarks at a press conference following a meeting of the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Russia, Britain, Iran and China, the first of its kind since U.S. withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).


Wang said participants at the meeting have pledged to continue to abide by and implement the JCPOA, oppose unilateral sanctions that violate international laws, and effectively safeguard the international non-proliferation regime.
