  BEIJING, Feb. 25 (ChinaMil) -- After successfully completing its visiting tasks, the 18th escort taskforce of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN), made up of the amphibious dock landing ship "Changbaishan", the guided missile frigate "Yuncheng" and the comprehensive supply ship "Chaohu Lake", steered into the Suez Canal from the Port Said, the north estuary of the Canal, late on the afternoon of February 23, 2015 local time on its return voyage to China.

 

  Yu Haibo, military attaché of the Chinese embassy in Egypt, and his entourage of 7 people, boarded the "Changbaishan" ship to visit and extend their regards to the officers and soldiers of the taskforce.

 

  According to sources, the 18th escort taskforce of the PLA Navy which set sail from Zhanjiang of south Chinas Guangdong province on August 1, 2014, took over the escort duty of the 17th Chinese escort taskforce in the Gulf of Aden and waters off the Somali coast on August 23, successively escorted 135 vessels in 48 batches, including 84 foreign merchant ships, and ensured the safety of escorted ships and itself.
