Hungarian ruling party strengthens ties to Italian far right

Hungary's ruling Fidesz party and Italy's Euroskeptics can count on each other, a Hungarian junior minister said in an interview published Monday.
Katalin Novák, the state secretary for family and youth affairs and vice president of Fidesz, met with the League's leader, Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, and the head of the far-right Brothers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, at the World Congress of Families in Italy over the weekend.
The event in Verona has sparked protests due to what critics describe as its Russian links and anti-LGBTQ views.
