From 13 to 16 September 2023, a NISCSS delegation under the project of “Oral Narration of South China Sea” led by Dr. Yan Yan, Director of Research Center for Oceans Law and Policy, visited relevant Indonesian think tanks, conducted in-depth interviews as part of the "Oral Narration of South China Sea" project and exchanged views on various issues such as the historical contributions of the DOC, the prospects of “COC”, China-ASEAN maritime cooperation and the 10 anniversary of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, the “Digital Silk Road”, the construction of China-Indonesia strategic partnership and other important issues with many former politicians and experts such as, Hassan Wirayuda, former Indonesian Foreign Minister, Jusuf Wanandi, co-founder of the Centre for International Studies (CSIS), Shafiah Muhibat, Deputy Director of the research department in CSIS and researcher Muhammad Habib.

During the visit in Jakarta, the delegation also met with relevant officials from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia.
