On 28 August 2015, Vivian Forbes, adjunct research professor of the NISCSS and professor of the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Western Australia, gave a lecture titled “Archival Research: Some Pointers for the South China Sea Debate” and held in-depth discussion with NISCSS research staff.

Professor Forbes began a week-long academic visit to the NISCSS on 24 August 2015.   

NISCSS President Wu Shicun and Vice President Xi Jinsong attended this event.
