On 7 September 2015, NISCSS President Wu Shicun attended the 3^rd China-ASEAN Dialogue in Chengdu and made a keynote speech entitled “Implement the DOC to Promote Maritime Cooperation in the South China Sea.” President Wu first reviewed the current situation in the South China Sea, and then proposed that China and ASEAN countries could advance cooperation in low-sensitivity areas, including marine tourism, marine environmental protection, fisheries and joint search & rescue.

The 3^rd China-ASEAN Dialogue was co-organized by China Institute of International Studies, ASEAN Institutes of Strategic and International Studies and Chengdu Foreign & Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. The participants included dozens of scholars from China and ASEAN countries.
