On 16 February 2016, NISCSS President Wu Shicun was interviewed by the HBO for a documentary on the South China Sea. President Wu elaborated on various issues, including the origin and development of the South China Sea disputes, the historical and legal basis of China’s claims, the arbitration case initiated by the Philippines against China, implications of U.S. Freedom of Navigation program in the South China Sea and Chinese land reclamation efforts in the Nansha Islands (Spratlys).
