On 13 April 2016, during their visit to the NISCSS, Ms. Zhang Ketian (doctor candidate of political science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Mr. Andrew Chubb (doctor candidate of political science and international relations from the University of Western Australia) delivered two lectures respectively entitled "Explaining Chinese Coercion in The South China Sea (1990-2015)" and "Survey of Chinese Public Opinion on Maritime Issues".

They also exchanged ideas with NISCSS research staff on related issues.
