On 17 May 2016, at the invitation of Indian Vivekananda International Foundation, NISCSS President Wu Shicun delivered a lecture on the history and status quo of the situation in the South China Sea, the arbitration initiated by the Philippines against China and the outlook on the South China Sea disputes. President Wu also answered questions on issues of concern to India.

Present at the lecture were about 100 representatives of Indian diplomatic agencies, relevant countries’ embassy in India, think tanks and media.

As a famous think tank in India, the Vivekananda International Foundation was founded in 2009 and is believed to be closely aligned with the military and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
