On 19 May 2016, at the invitation of the Saranrom Institute of Foreign Affairs Foundation, NISCSS President Wu Shicun attended a press conference on South China Sea issues in Bangkok. President Wu shared his ideas on various hot topics, including China’s South China Sea policy, the situation in the South China Sea, the arbitration unilaterally initiated by the Philippines against China, China’s land reclamation and code of conduct in the South China Sea.

NISCSS research fellow Hong Nong and resident senior fellow Sourabh Gupta from the Institute for China-America Studies also answered related questions.

Present at the conference were over 40 representatives of over 20 Thai and Chinese leading media, including Nation TV, the Nation, Post Today, Guangming Daily, Renmin Daily and Xinhua News Agency.

President Wu also received interviews with China Radio International (CRI) and Yunnan Television Station (YNTV).
