On 5 September 2016, NISCSS President Wu Shicun met with Dr. Ming-Shiou Jeng, research fellow with the Biodiversity Research Center of Academia Sinica, and exchanged ideas on environmental monitoring and biodiversity conservation in the South China Sea.

On the same day, Dr. Jeng gave an academic lecture entitled “Coral Reef Conservation in South China Sea: Status quo and Future Policy”, which gathered over 30 attendees from ocean-related agencies in Hainan Province.

Dr. Jeng is also scheduled to give another academic lecture on marine ecological protection in Taiwan on 7 September 2016.
