On 24 October 2016, NISCSS President Wu Shicun delivered a lecture at the Law Society of Hong Kong on the origin of the South China Sea disputes as well as the latest and future developments of the South China Sea situation.

This was the first of a series of lectures under the “International Law in Campus” campaign, which was organized by Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Commissioner of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong.

Deputy Director-General Ma Xinmin of the Department of Treaty and Law of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Counselor Mao Ning of the Department of Asian Affairs of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs also made remarks on the legal perspectives of the South China Sea arbitration and China’s relations with neighboring countries.
