(Opinion) US won’t quit vying for economic dominance

"US President-elect Donald Trump
made an announcement in a video recently that the US will withdraw from
the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal on his first day in the
White House. The decision has attracted a great deal of attention from
the whole world. Observers are concerned about not only the prospects of
the trade deal, but also the future of the US-led global free trade
system.
The TPP is an important legacy of the Barack Obama administration. Obama has devoted huge efforts to it. Trump pulling out of the TPP signals his determination to split from the former government and reshape the domestic and diplomatic order. It also fulfills his promise to voters."
