On 8 August 2017, NISCSS President Wu Shicun met with a four-member delegation led by Keita Furukawa, senior research fellow with the Ocean Policy Research Institute of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. The two sides exchanged views on the upcoming China-Japan dialogue on maritime cooperation and inter-institutional cooperation.
