On 25 January 2018, Linda Quayle, Assistant Professor of the School of Politics, History and International Relations at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus visited the NISCSS in Haikou, and had a round table discussion with NISCSS scholars. Views on various issues were exchanged at the meeting, such as the relationship between China’s historic rights claim in the South China Sea and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the political and legal implication of the South China Sea Arbitration, the negotiation of the Code of Conduct (CoC) of the South China Sea, and the prospect of regional security situation.
