On 2 May 2018, Vivian Louis Forbes, Adjunct Research Professor of NISCSS and Professor of School of Earth and Environment at the University of Western Australia, held a seminar on “Determining Territorial Sea Datum (Basepoints): the Spratly Group” at the NISCSS. President Wu Shicun and some research fellows of the NISCSS attended the seminar.

Professor Forbes began his visit at the NISCSS on 15 April 2018 for joint research.
