From 27 to 29 September 2018, Admiral Jayanath Colombage (Ret.), former chief of Sri Lanka Navy, Director of Centres for Indo- Lanka Initiatives and Law of the Sea of the Pathfinder Foundation visited NISCSS. President Wu Shicun met with Admiral Colombage, and exchanged views with him on institutional exchanges and cooperation in the future. 

During his visit, Admiral Colombage held two seminars at NISCSS titled “Belt and Road Initiative and Opportunities and Challenges: World View and Sri Lankan Perceptions” and “Indo-Pacific Construct: Geostrategic Competition, Convergence and Dilemma” respectively.
