On 4 November 2019, a delegation of Australian Department of Defense headed by China Section Director Mr. Geoff Gardiner visited the NISCSS. President Wu Shicun met with the guests. A roundtable discussion was held on several issues of mutual concern such as the current situation and future prospect of the South China Sea, China and Australia’s South China Sea policies, the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative, and the relationship between China and ASEAN countries.
