On 14 July 2020, the delegation of the United Kingdom Consulate-General in Guangzhou, led by Acting Consul-General Liberty Timewell, visited NISCSS. President Wu Shicun met with the guests. The two sides exchanged views on the current situation of the South China Sea, China's South China Sea policy, development of the Code of Conduct negotiations and maritime activities of neighboring countries.
