On 10 August, NISCSS President Wu Shicun had an online meeting with Michael Vatikiotis, the Asia regional director of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and his colleagues. The two sides exchanged views on the current situation of the South China Sea, China-US relations and the establishment of crisis management mechanism in the South China Sea.

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue is a Geneva-based private foundation that is mainly designed to prevent international conflicts, manage crises and resolve disputes. Its purpose is to promote international peace by means of dialogue and reconciliation. It has regional offices in Nairobi and Singapore.
