Wang Yi: China respects Solomon Islands' relations with all countries

China respects the Solomon Islands in developing friendly relations with all countries in the world, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday.
Wang made the remarks when meeting with Acting Governor General of Solomon Islands John Patteson Oti in Honiara, the first stop of his 10-day tour.
The Chinese diplomat is scheduled to pay an official visit to the Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste upon invitation, from May 26 to June 4. He will also visit the Federated States of Micronesia via video, meet with prime ministers and foreign ministers of the Cook Islands and Niue via video, and chair the second China-Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Fiji.
