"Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met with Japanese Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso here on Friday.

Zhang said the Chinese side has always attached great importance to China-Japan relations. He said the Chinese side has insisted on advancing bilateral relations on the basis of the four China-Japan political documents and in the spirit of 'taking history as a mirror and looking forward to the future'.

Chinese and Japanese leaders have met twice since the end of last year as bilateral relations generally improved. Zhang said the two sides should continue to march toward the same goal of improved bilateral relations in a sustained and stable manner"
