China to cancel COVID-19 test for international travelers from Jan. 8

International travelers to China will no longer need to do a nucleic acid test for COVID-19 upon arrival from January 8, 2023, but will be required to declare the result of the nucleic acid test within 48 hours before entry, the General Administration of Customs announced on Wednesday.


On the same day, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said that it will steadily promote the resumption of international passenger flights to meet the needs of international personnel and foreign trade and investment exchanges.


Policies, such as limiting each operational foreign airline to one inbound route and a maximum of one trip per week would be canceled as of January 8, 2023, it said.
