"China has to strike a balance between wanting friendly ties with its neighbours and wanting its interests to prevail on issues such as territorial disputes in the South China Sea, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in a wide-ranging interview with Time magazine that covered various domestic and regional topics. Mr Lee noted that if China pushes too hard, there would be a pushback and, ultimately, dominance based only on power would not be an adequate basis for influence.
