Xi Jinping stresses enhancing political loyalty in the military

Chinese President Xi Jinping has underscored the importance of enhancing political loyalty in the military in the new era and providing a firm political guarantee for building a strong military.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), made the statement at a military political work conference held in Yan'an City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province from Monday to Wednesday.
The Yan'an conference, which Xi personally decided to convene, took place 10 years after a similar meeting was held in Gutian County in east China's Fujian Province. The participants discussed and made arrangements to promote political work in the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
