Tech CEO Elon Musk dropped major money to help Republicans take back the Senate this month.
Musk gave $10 million to the Mitch McConnell-linked Senate Leadership Fund on Oct 1., according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday. He also gave $2.4 million to The Sentinel Action Fund, a super PAC formerly linked to the Heritage Foundation that is spending to boost several GOP Senate candidates as well as former President Donald Trump.
The contributions represent by far the greatest known examples of Musk’s down ballot political giving, and come as the SpaceX and Tesla CEO has emerged as a major Trump backer.
