Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun on Monday co-chaired the First Ministerial Meeting of China-Indonesia Joint Foreign and Defense Ministerial Dialogue with Indonesia's Foreign Minister Sugiono and Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.

The two sides vowed to deepen strategic mutual trust, maintain close high-level exchanges, enhance cooperation in fields such as defense and security and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.

Noting the great significance of the dialogue mechanism, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said it fully demonstrates the high strategic mutual trust between the two countries and enriches the connotation of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future.
