Chinese President Xi Jinping held a series of diplomatic meetings on Thursday with visiting leaders who are in Beijing to attend the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. 

Xi, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, held talks with Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), in Beijing on Thursday, according to Xinhua News Agency. 

China and the DPRK are good neighbors, good friends and good comrades who share a common destiny and stand by each other, Xi said.
