China to firmly uphold existing intl system, enhance UN authority

China is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with international organizations in Vienna and their member states, firmly uphold the existing international system, and enhance the authority and status of the United Nations, a Chinese envoy said on Monday in Vienna.
Li Song, China's permanent representative to the UN and other international organizations in Vienna, made the remarks while addressing the reception for the Chinese lunar new year and Spring Festival held at UN in Vienna.
More than 800 people attended the reception, including officials of UN and other international organizations in Vienna, permanent representatives and diplomats as well as international staff.
