"A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official met with a group of lawmakers from the Republic of Korea Wednesday in Beijing and called for closer exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, hailed the sound development of ties between the two countries featuring progress in political trust, economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges."
