Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met Thursday afternoon with Venezuela's top economic policy maker, Rodolfo Marco Torres.

During the meeting at Zhongnanhai in Beijing, the headquarters of the Chinese government, Zhang said the two sides should advance cooperation in the areas of energy, mineral resources, agriculture, infrastructure and high technology to a new stage.

Torres, who was appointed Vice President of Economy and Finance by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in September, is in Beijing for a visit to China.
