"During the upcoming G20 summit in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, Chinese President Xi Jinping
is set to meet with his US counterpart Barack Obama. This year China
and the US have seen their strategic distrust rise and their
relationship dealt a blow by the South China Sea arbitration
and the plan of the US and South Korea to deploy the Terminal
High-Altitude Area Defense anti-missile system in South Korea. Against
this backdrop, straightening out where bilateral ties stand now is
highly necessary.
As the only country that is able and has the
motive to contain China's rise, the US constitutes the biggest
disturbance to China's national security. Washington is connected to
almost all deteriorations in China's relations with neighboring
countries, and its rebalance to the Asia-Pacific region and military
redeployment centered in the region are directed against China.
During Obama's term, the US has kept both increasingly vigilant and engaged with China. It tends to use effort-free and convenient means to disturb China's development."
